I am an assistant professor of Human-Centered Computing at Simon Fraser University, School of Interactive Arts and Technology.
I am a researcher in Human Computer Interaction, Visualization, and Computational Social Science. I study how humans interact with information on social media from both social/urban and individual perspectives. I design tools to help humans think in light of new data anf information.
My upcomming book is called Architectural User Interface. With Eric Sauda (architect) and Donna Lanclos (ethnographer), We explore what it means to think of architectures of the past and future as user interfaces designed with humans in mind.
With Eric Sauda and Ginette Wessel, I explore several cases of how social media has impacted our lives in cities using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Can't wait for you to read it! I also designed the cover for the book. I realy wanted to become a graphic designer when I was in highschool. Maybe all of this work was for me to justify doing some graphic design😂😂. Maybe my next project should inolve film making because I also really wanted to become a movie director.

at the AAAI International Conference on Web and Social Media (1), and the 24th International Conference on Intelligent User Interfaces (2), I presented two related works on designing Visual Analytics Systems for decision-making about misinformation.
Urban Activity Explorer, is a visual analytics system, designed in collaboration with urban planners, to study human social media activities in urban space.
